Alloy 20
Alloy 20 is an iron-based, austenitic alloy. It includes a combination of nickel, iron, and chromium with additions of molybdenum and copper. Alloy 20 has great resistance to pitting and corrosion from chemicals containing sulfuric, nitric, and phosphoric acids. Common applications include, but are not limited to: chemical processing, chemical storage, food processing, and pharmaceutical equipment. Alloy 20 is also suitable for welding and fabrication. Additional niobium in Alloy 20 provides for stabilization in the construction of: piping, tanks, pumps, valves, and heat exchangers. However, per ASME specification, Alloy 20 is limited to a maximum temperature of 1000°F.
